Canada in the wars in Central Africa

Until lions produce their own historians, the story of the hunt will glorify only the hunter

African proverb

This is an English translation of the title of a book, ‘Canada dans les guerres en Afrique Centrale,’ which was published early May 2012 by a Congolese activist.

Several genocides and many crimes against humanity have been committed in the Great Lakes region, namely in Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, and Democratic Republic of Congo. Some are even ongoing as I write.

What surprise people who are aware and concerned by those crimes is that local and international master-minders of the latter have so far got away with them. They continue to benefit from total impunity.

Patrick Mbeko, author of the book, in his investigative and well documented writing on the subject, unveils some of those culprits, whose prosecution is long overdue.

For any bad luck, in case you don’t manage to get the book, I recommend you to read at least its preface in English by Keith Harmon Snow.

Please do read it from the very beginning up to the end. It is only a few pages. It gives you the flavor of the leading perspective in the entire book.
